Strategic Planning workshop with DeEtta Jones

Wednesday, March 20, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm

Location: Brevard Central Library
308 Forrest Avenue, Cocoa, FL 32922

Introduction to Strategic Planning is a one-day experience designed to provide a high-level overview of the elements of a library strategic planning process. This class equips people who will be leading or contributing to the facilitation of a library strategic planning process with a broad understanding of the various components and considerations, as well as practical tools. Elements are presented in such a way that participants can then tailor the process or tools as appropriate to their home environment.

Participants are asked to bring organizational background documents to the session to ensure the session’s lessons are immediately applicable. Examples of helpful documents to bring may include:
  • the library’s previous or current strategic plan
  • the strategic plan of the library’s parent organization
  • or vision, mission or values statements
Learning Outcomes: After this class, participants will:
  • Learn how to successfully engage the organization in an efficient and effective planning process
  • Tips and techniques for engaging key stakeholders
  • Management of the overall process as well as practical design and facilitation of individual sessions
