The February 2008 issue of Computers in Libraries is devoted to the subject of Self-Check Systems. (This was recommended to me yesterday by a member who is "living the life of riley".)
Worth a look if you are in the market for a system. Here is the Table of Contents. One article is available to read for free.
Especially good is the article beginning on page 29 that lists all the vendors who provide self-check systems and detailed information about their pricing, product specs, etc.
